Велики петак
The name given to the Friday before Easter Sunday, which commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Golgotha. It is described as 'Good' by Christians, as without the crucifixion there would not have been a resurrection to show how God overcame sin and death itself.
Black (the colour of grief and mourning) is kept for Good Friday. Solemn services are held in churches as a reminder of the sad events of the first Good Friday.
