C - reaktivni protein (CRP)
je serumski protein koji nastaje u stanicama jetre kao dio akutne faze odgovora. Veže se za fosfatidilkolin, dio površine brojnih bakterija. Radi vezana CRP-a na površinu, fagocitne stanice jednostavnije obuhvaćaju (opsoniziraju) bakteriju.
