ravnoteža
U umjetnosti općenito princip po kojem su elementi u djelu (slici,skulpturi, arhitekturi ili drugom)raspoređeni da bi dali cjelokupni osjećaj stabilnosti. Osovinski ili radijalan raspored elemenata je jedan način da se postigne temeljni osjećaj ravnoteže iako su tipične i kompleksnije kompozicije. Umjetnici često spajaju različite elemente-bilo po veličini, obliku, boji, vrijednosti, definiciji ili psihološkom ili narativnom interesu- s obzirom na okvir da se postigne dinamična ravnoteža koja svejedno teži cjelovitosti i potpunosti unutar cijelog djela.
