- Company Profile:
A mathematical means of expressing the ability of a reservoir to deliver fluids to the wellbore. The PI is usually stated as the volume delivered per psi of drawdown at the sandface (bbl/d/psi).
Industry:Oil & gas
A mathematical measure of the centrality of a data set. If the data set is arranged in the order of the values, the median is the value of the central data point for an odd number of data, or the mean of the two central data points for an even number of data. The median is often used in place of the mean or average when there are a number of extreme data values or the distribution of data is skewed.
Industry:Oil & gas
A mathematical method of finding a central value for a group of data. It is most often referred to as the average but also as the mean. The arithmetic mean is the sum of all the observed values divided by the number of observations.
Industry:Oil & gas
A mathematical method of finding a central value for a group of data. The midrange is defined as the sum of the lowest value in the data set and the highest value if the data set divided by two.
Industry:Oil & gas
A mathematical procedure for connecting data points with a smooth line. The line does not necessarily go through the data points, but its direction and curvature are affected by all the data points. The "stiffness" of the line is controlled by a variable (lambda) in the algorithm.
Industry:Oil & gas
A mathematical procedure used to improve computer usage in simulated annealing runs. The procedure uses a fast swapping technique to match model semivariograms to actual semivariogram data.
Industry:Oil & gas
A mathematical computation that accounts for production from multiple wells. Image wells are used to model the effect of impermeable barriers.
Industry:Oil & gas
A material used in a capacitor to store a charge from an applied electrical field. A pure dielectric does not conduct electricity.
Industry:Oil & gas
A manifold connected within the surface treating lines that is configured to enable control and routing of fluids during a squeeze operation. Most squeeze manifolds have treating line connections with the tubing string, annulus, pit line and pump unit. Isolation valves enable the appropriate flowpath to be selected, and pressure sensors included in tubing and annulus lines monitor the key treatment pressures. In some squeeze treatments, such as squeeze cementing, it may be desirable to reverse-circulate excess cement from the tubing string. The squeeze manifold enables a change in fluid routing to be quickly and easily achieved from one station.
Industry:Oil & gas
A map based on quantile values from the probabilities of the values of the data. This map is used to reveal problems with distributions of variables in geostatistical studies.
