This stitch pattern is created by knitting all stitches on the right side of work and purling all stitches on the back side. Old patterns also call this "plain knitting."
Another term for "frog" meaning to rip the knitted work back to correct a mistake. Tink comes from the word "knit" spelled backwards.
Lay working yarn over right needle from front to back. Proceed with knitting row. On next row, knit or purl the yarn over like any other stitch. Yarn overs are used to create holes in lace.
